I live in the UK but the patient lives in Pakistan (where appropriate medical care for cancer is in short supply). Patient is a female and the wife of my cousin. She is 38 years of age and has two young sons. Her husband earns a meagre salary and cannot afford her cancer treatment which has to be privately funded (as the Governement does not provide any medical assistance). Eventhough she has had mastectomy, her cancer has spread to her bones and the brain. She is running against the clock. She is in stage 4 and it is only a matter of time when the cancer reaches her vital organs.

She is undergoing radiation therapy but it is only for the brain. Her metastasis sites in her spine and other bones cannot undergo further radiation therapy. Her condition is deteriorating.

The only hope we have is to offer her a treatment of Faslodex as part of her treatment plan. It is a new type of Estrogen blocker which could stop or reduce the spread of cancer. It is an effective drug but also very expensive. It costs somewhere between GBP600-GBP700 per injection and she needs 1 injection per month (first month's dose consists of 2 injections - 2 weeks apart).

If we don't start the Faslodex treatment immediately - I feel the window of opportunity would slip away from us. All monies raised via this campaign shall be used for her treatment (Faslodex + associated medication).
