Story
On June 13th 2023 3 people were fatally stabbed and 3 others were injured in attacks that happened on the streets of Nottingham. Grace O’Malley-Kumar, Barnaby Webber and Ian Coates were the 3 victims who were killed.
At Bottled Up Blokes, like many others, these horrific attacks had a huge impact on us and we feel that we wanted to do something to support the families of the 3 victims who's lives were taken.
We've decided that we are going to do a walk on Sunday 16th July 2023 starting at 10:00am on Ilkeston Road in Nottingham ending on the Old Market square. The route will include Magdala Road, Sherwood Street and Milton Street where the attacks occurred. This route is approx 1hr 30 mins.
Bottled Up Blokes CIC is a mental health support group for men. BUB hold 2 weekly peer to peer support groups for men called BUB HUBs, one in South Normanton and one in Hucknall. The Hucknall BUB HUB is in partnership Nottingham Forest Community Trust. BUB also run weekly football sessions every Monday in Tibshelf. For more information please visit www.bottledupblokes.com.
Bottled Up Blokes was founded by Tim Cox. Even though he is Derbyshire based, as a Nottingham Forest fan he sees Nottingham as his city. Tim took the attacks extremely personal and really wants to show support to the victims and the city as a whole.
We were unsure on how much to have a target and wanted to keep it realistic as we know times are extremely tough for people right now. Any donation would be gratefully received. Will we split the funds raised between the 3 families. If anyone can help with contacting the victims families that would be great.
