I'm raising £1000 to support Weston Hospicecare & The Monkey Tree Charity

Organised by North Somerset Environment

Story

We’re a team from the North Somerset Environment Company (Stuart Jellings, Bryan Menzies, Shane Young, Robyn Southam, Bruce Grime, Craig Bidwell & Tawnie Wilkinson) running in this year’s Weston Half Marathon, and we’re lacing up our trainers with a clear purpose, to raise money for two incredible local charities doing life-changing work in our community: Weston Hospicecare and The Monkey Tree Charity.

Weston Hospicecare provides expert, compassionate end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses across Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset. They don’t just care for patients, they support families, friends, and carers too, offering a network of understanding, guidance, and emotional support during the hardest moments of life.

This kind of care is more than just medical, it's deeply personal. And it’s only possible because of the generosity of people like you.

The Monkey Tree Charity works to provide a free on loan wheelchair service to children & young adults with terminal / life limiting illnesses receiving treatment within the Bristol Royal Infirmary, the Bristol Children's Hospital & the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit

We live and work in North Somerset. These charities are right on our doorstep, making a real difference every day.

We’re running not just for the challenge, but to give back to the people and families who need it most.

Every step that our team runs is powered by your support. Whether it’s £5 or £50, your donation will go directly to Weston Hospicecare and The Monkey Tree Charity, helping them continue their vital work in our community.

Please support us if you can, and thank you for being part of something meaningful.

Together, we can go the distance, for care, for families, and for hope.
