Story
Survivors of sexual abuse find it difficult to talk to people about what has taken place, it's common for the abuse to be kept locked away and comes back to haunt and destroy many aspects of a survivors life.
It's very important to offer anonymity which we offer, both on our website as well as dedicated chat apps. As a result of this we are finding many of our service users opening up to us for the first time in their lives. We have proven that our services work and it's important that we don't fail due to lack of funds.
So far all of the funding has been done by the founder member Stephen which is me. Quite simply I've run out and the organisation is in danger.
The money raised will be used to pay for running costs which broken down looks like this.
Monthly £20 for server costs.
Bi-annually license costs $149 (£116).
Annual license costs $499 (£388).
Technical support labour charges approximately £700 / year.
Long term I'm aiming to run the organisation as a paid position.
Over the last few months we've been trying to source funding and have done a considerable amount of research, for example the 'Lottery Fund', they have 2 types of funding programs. The first lower amount is not available as this is not for National organisations. The second is the really large funding program, this is not available as we've not been running long enough to fit the criteria.
There are a lot of funders around the UK but these are targeted towards projects that benefit local community projects alone.
Please help us to keep this unique and vital resource running for all survivors.

7 years agoOne of our members says. "I joined the site early in 2017 after searching for somewhere to find other survivors. With no real expectations I joined up and within a few days I found a whole new world of survivors to talk to and share with. There is no other site out there that provides this level of peer support. I'm no longer alone."

7 years agoI've been asked if crowd funding allows monthly direct debit transactions. It doesn't allow this, but our 'why donate page does. https://www.nationalsurvivorsnetwork.co.uk/donate/

Hi, have found this site enormously helpful. It would have put me off joining if I needed to pay, as wouldn't trust it was genuine. Please keep it going!

The monthly direct debit idea is a good one - lots of small amounts make a big one!

I received a bonus at work this month so can make you a one-off donation now. Does this crowdfunding allow for monthly direct debit payments? It wouldn't be much but maybe a few of us could help xx

Stephen Armstrong-Smith
As a survivor of sexual abuse by a Catholic Priest, I know very well the damage this does in later life. I've setup the organisation to support as many people in a similar situation in the hope that they don't have to go all through life to start recovering and have a happy life
