Weʼve raised £340 to help get Nottingham Synchronized Skating Academy to our competition in Spain after Monarch Airlines flight cancellation

Funded on Tuesday, 6th February 2018

    Story

Nottingham Synchronised Skating Academy is hoping you may be able to help us with a major issue caused by the recent Monarch Airlines collapse.

The first of our most senior teams competitions takes place in Granada (Spain) in only a few weeks time. However we recently received devastating news that our flights (booked with Monarch) are cancelled due to them going into administration. As a result our girls have been left stranded! This competition is very important as the Junior team, who need to attend in order for them gain high enough scores to qualify for the world championships. Now 27 girls aged 13 to 19, along with their coaches and managers, now have to find more money to pay for replacement flights very quickly in order to get to the competition - this is proving almost impossible and risk missing the competition. As you can imagine it's a very upsetting time for the girls, not only for those currently unable to fly, but also for the rest of the club as they are extremely supportive of each other.

We would be very grateful if you could share our story, and would appreciate any help we can get from our local community and businesses.

We would also like to promote the club and the sport as they are having a full dress rehearsal on Sunday the 29th of October 1-2pm at Nottingham ice arena where all 6 teams will unveil their routines for the coming season. We would love as many people people to come to support their final skate before (hopefully) flying off (if they can get money/flights etc).

Each and every skater has put so much hard work into their routines and training and we are hoping they can overcome the bumpy start and have their most successful season yet!

Any help would be hugely appreciated at this difficult time. If you need more information please contact me on the following email: nick.nssa@btinternet.com

Thank you for reading this and please share as widely as possible
