Story

For many years now, Nuffield Parish has been without a central meeting place and focal point for the community. Our beloved parish church, Holy Trinity, is also in need of a helping hand to keep the structure of the 11th century building in a sound state. We've decided, therefore, with care and consideration and respecting the nature of the church, we can renovate the church to allow it to be used as a village community centre while preserving its use for worship.

We'll be repairing the roof, removing most of the pews (many of which are plagued by woodworm), replacing the floor, installing better lighting and heating and installing a WC and servery. Many of the original features of the church will remain: the chancel will remain as it is - with a little tidy up; the font will remain in situ; the stained glass windows and heavy wooden door to the church will all be repaired and the brasses on the church floor and plaques on the walls will all be preserved.

The project is ambitious. We've raised a little over £5000 so far and we hope to raise a lot of the money needed through grants. However, every little helps and we'd love it if you could be part of the project by contributing via this fund raising site.

Thank you
