Nugent House is keen to fundraise for the 10-4-Tom Appeal, in support of Kate’s brother, Tom and his ongoing medical treatment. Kate joined Nugent in September 2020 and is very much at the heart of Nugent, and therefore we want to support her brother. Tom had a life changing accident in June, when he fractured his neck in 2 places and severely damaged his spinal cord. He was airlifted to King’s College Hospital ICU, where he stayed for over 4 months. He was finally moved to the National Spinal Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital. However, Covid means Tom only receives 3 hours of physiotherapy a week. His consultant believes he needs 25 hours. The fundraising will support Tom’s move to a rehab centre where this is availble. To that end, we are coming together as a house to do a series of small challenges and each will be based on the number 10. For example, run 10k, swim 100 lengths, bake 10 cakes (eat 10 cakes!). Covid has meant that we can’t necessarily fund raise in the traditional way, but we will not let this put us off! Any donation towards our target would be hugely appreciated.
