Story

Nuha Abdo, founder and driving force behind the Syrian Sisters community group in Oxfordshire is aiming to raise money for her birthday this year to fund a new project.

Nuha wants to help five women under the age of 40 living in refugee camps in Syria and Iraq access relevant training and support to get in to full time employment. This includes funding training programmes and enlisting employment specialists to help these women to write CVs and attend interviews.

The money raised from this campaign will change the lives of these women who had their studies interrupted in their country due to the political climate. They require this support in order to enter the workforce as professionals in order to support themselves and their families.

Any amount, big or small is greatly appreciated and will be used for the greater good by a person who's only intention is provide new opportunities to women every day.

Syrian Sisters offers a support network for refugee women who have recently arrived in Oxford. It helps them make new friends, learn about Oxford and the UK, and build their skills.
