Help target Malnutrition !!

I am Neha, a Grade 11 student.

"Nurture" is my personal initiative to improve awareness of malnutrition and cost-effective balanced diet among the Low Income Group (LIG) of sub-urban areas of Bangalore in India. The LIG of sub-urban society are the neglected section of our society. We assume LIG have the resources and knowledge to sustain a decent nutrition among there daily struggles of living. Sadly, this is not true. In India, despite a 50% increase in GDP since 1991, more than one third of the world's malnourished children live in India.

Passionate to make a sustainable difference, I believe education alongside a practical demonstration of a balanced diet will have a sustained impact on their longterm nutritional health. With guidance from a nutrition expert, I plan to educate the low income group on cost-effective balanced diet to prevent malnutrition. I intend to provide ingredients for one basic balanced meal to most accessible low income population in my local area With a view to promote and educate adequate nutrition.
