Story
Some of the Nyewood Family staff team have decided to do a ‘cold water swimming challenge‘ to raise some much needed funds for the school. We will be completing 30 dips during the month of November (weather permitting) in the sea. The money raised will go towards purchasing resources to support mental health awareness for all, across the whole school.
At Nyewood CofE Infant School we are passionate about supporting children to be confident, happy and independent learners who are encouraged to reflect on their inner selves. They are abe to consider what they believe, value and feel and how this can shape their sense of identity and self-worth and how they respond to others.
Our two trained ELSA’s (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) are able to provide individual and group support to children for their emotional wellbeing. We also have a dedicated staff team who support the children with their mental health using a whole school approach.
We are incredibly lucky to have a ‘Woodland Area’ which the children access regularly. At Nyewood we are fortunate to have passionately trained staff supporting them to take part in a range of different experiiences, when in this space.
Having regular access to green and blue spaces is incredibly beneficial to everyones mental health and this is one of the reasons we chose a cold water swimming challenge. We believe that looking after and supporting our own mental health is paramount to being able to support the childrens.
Thank you so much for your donation, we really do appreciate it.
