Story
As a small animal veterinary hospital we see lots of sad cases where pets, through no fault of their own, need to be rehomed or fostered for an indefinite period. The Mutts Nutts offers a fostering and rehoming service for dogs and cats, particularly in cases where the owner is poorly, unable to care for that pet anymore or has sadly passed away.
We also see a huge amount of wild animals who are sick or injured and have been brought in to us by a concerned member of the public. Once they have received the necessary veterinary care and attention they often need a halfway house before they are able to return to the wild. The Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital offers this safe place. They are able to house a wide variety of convalescing wild animals until they are strong enough to return to their natural habitat. Without the work that these smaller charities do we would be entirely reliant on liaising with national charities who are already inundated with cases.
As an experienced veterinary nurse and veterinary surgeon respectively, Helen and Eve work alongside local charities all the time, who support the work that we do as a profession and offer a solution for our patients, both domestic and wild, once our duty of care has been performed. They would like to give something back and are running the Rutland Half Marathon on Sunday 16th September 2018 in aid of both these charities (any funds raised will be split in equal parts between the two).
Thank you in advance for your generous donations, they would be delighted to hit their target of £200 for these wonderful charities!
