I've raised £3783 to keep Oakley Scouts going over the next few months since their hut burnt down on 14th August. Money wanted to replace all the equipment lost.

Story

Oakley Scouts have been going for years, Oakley children have been attending the Scout Hut in the playing field for generations. Fathers, mothers, daughters and sons.
We have good active volunteers in Oakley, who put together a case for renovation and modernisation of the hut. They secured grants and the work was just starting, then tragedy struck. At 19:00 on 14th August 2017, the Scout Hut caught fire and burnt to the ground within two hours. Nothing could be salvaged. All the equipment, tents, etc. acquired over many years has been lost.
OK - the hut is insured and will be re-built, this could take many months / years. However in the meantime the Scouts will need a base, which has been secured. However to run the various age groups, they need equipment and they need to be up and running as soon as possible.
Oakley has over one thousand people, if all gave a fiver, we can raise the money. Let's see what we can do to support the scouts, the scout leaders, the children, the community and the village.

Original amount was £5,000 - but we have received donations of £1,217 outside of Just-giving, so reduced to £3,783.
