Story

Get involved in my sanitary towels project for underprivileged girls... Almost 80% of adolescent girls in rural schools in Ghana have no access to sanitary towels. The aim of this project is to prevent young girls from being absent from school and the embarrassment of a period leakage, using unclean rags and/or newspapers by providing a cleaner and safer option.

According to the Ghana-based NGO Sustainable Development Focus (SUDEF), 95% of girls in rural areas reported missing school during their periods. Across all of Sub-Saharan Africa, it’s estimated that one in 10 girls miss out on education while menstruating, adding up to as much as 20% of a school year, UNESCO reported.

Unsuitable toilet facilities, not having access to menstrual products and enduring menstrual pain can cause girls to miss class. Discomfort due to over-soaked menstrual products, and fear about others noticing menstrual stains on clothing can also impact girl’s concentration and performance levels in class.

I aim to raise 1500 sanitary pads by December 2018.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could donate towards this project with as Little as £1.

Thank you and God bless you

MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU AS YOU SUPPORT THESE PROJECT.
