Story

The objective is to raise money to donate to the ICU at The Royal Victoria Infirmary Newcastle. This is to enable them to provide to other families the care and support they gave to our son Connor following his accident on 14th April 2018 to his death on 23rd April 2018.

Connor was 21 years old, and a bricklayer by trade. Connor was a popular, happy lad who helped others whichever way he could. He loved his family and he loved his friends and enjoyed good times throughout his life. His motto was "life's too short for matching socks." How right he was.

Having represented NHS staff throughout my 40 year career as a trade union official it has always been my opinion than NHS staff are amongst the finest people on the planet. The staff within the ICU at the RVI served to increase my already high opinion of NHS staff. Their care, skill, dedication and compassion was the best I have ever seen. Our son, Connor, could not have had better care or have more compassionate staff look after him. Others deserve the same level of care and we hope to raise funds to enable this to continue.
