Story

Christmas time is a challenging time for most of us but for people who suffer from eating disorders it is especially tricky. The pressure to binge, restrict, eat clean or exercise excessively can be overwhelming and can lead to extremely unhealthy behaviours.

Until recently Neil, one of the founding members of OKFC, suffered from various forms of eating disorders from a young age. He has been in recovery for over two years and now enjoys Christmas in a healthy way. Neil is passionate about talking about eating disorders as he wants people, especially men, to open up about their struggle with food and body image. He believes talking about these things helps normalise and therefore de stigmatise them.

We at OKFC have nominated eating disorders charity S.E.E.D. as the charity we will support in our monthly fundraising match. They do amazing work and have helped so many people on the road to recovery and help people who are still struggling with their illness.

Please see the S.E.E.D. Website for more information about S.E.E.D.

We have a game on the 28th December and we would like you help us raise funds to support the great work S.E.E.D. do in the Central Lancashire area.

Any donation, no matter how small will be gratefully received.
