My names Michelle, I've been working with the elderly for over a decade. During this time I've made many relationships with the elderly generation.
After a long time delivering care I decided to take my caring skills to another level. The elderly need stimulation for their own sanity and we need to prevent loneliness and isolation while improving their health.
I am very passionate about bringing some social time, fun and movement into their lives.
I deliver activities and armchair aerobics to residential care homes and independent living homes. I've been doing this coming up to 2 years now.
I would like to start up more groups in local communities and get more people out and socialising. Unfortunately venues cost and some communities couldn't afford to cover these costs but they would love to have the opportunity to stay independent for longer but financially can't. I need to create more people like myself to deliver what is needed for our elder generation. Nobody wants to be lonely it isn't always a choice it just end up that way for some.
With the funds I would like to buy equipment and hire venues for these activity classes to happen more in the community.
