Story
Oliver is 8 years old and has always loved bikes. Last year he joined a cycle speedway club Sheffield Stars, and very quickly became part of the team travelling the country to compete in various competitions. At just 7 years old he began showing his potential having qualified to race in the national competitions. Within 9 months of joining the team he won the following:
Sheffield Go Ride Under 8's - 1st place
Sheffield Club Under 8's - 1st place
Sheffield Schools Under 11's pairs - 1st place
North of England and Scotland 2019 Under 8's - 2nd place
British Individuals under 8's - 3rd place
North of England GP under 10's - 3rd place
The reason Oliver wants to do this in his words are below:
"I have heard my grandad talking lots about helping raise money for his football team Worksop from not being a team anymore and I wanted to do something to help. If my cycle club was going to close I would be so upset. I love riding my bike just as much as my grandad loves football so I thought that I could do a bike ride to help raise some money. I will be riding 18.61 miles which is around 80 laps of the pitch at Worksop at their match against Newcastle Town on Wednesday 19th Feb. Please help me to raise as much money as possible."
