Story
Oliver Emanuel passed away on 19 December 2023, after being diagnosed with brain cancer 8 months earlier.
His family will be collecting donations in memory of Olly. These donations will be split between two charities: the Cornhill Macmillan Centre in Perth, which offers palliative and end of life care; and Prison Reading Groups, a charity that works across the UK running reading groups in prisons.
Olly and his family received excellent care and support from the Cornhill Macmillan Centre, where Olly spent the last few weeks of his life. We would like to show our gratitude to the staff for their compassion and care by collecting donations for the centre in memory of Olly.
Olly was also passionate about words, and social justice. Earlier in his career he spent some time working in Polmont Young Offenders Institution and was really impacted by the experience. We think Olly would be delighted that reading in prisons is being supported in memory of him.
Thank you for your support.
