Story

We have set this up to raise funds for alternative treatments for Oliver

In June 2021, Oliver was diagnosed with a grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma brain tumour, 2 weeks before his 22nd birthday. He'd experienced bad headaches, nausea for few weeks prior, he was fit and healthy, this came completely out of the blue. Oliver had emergency surgery, 70% of the tumour was removed. It was the size of a grapefruit! We started the NHS standard of care for brain tumours. Oliver had 33 sessions of radiotherapy and started chemotherapy. In Dec, olivers scan showed a growth and had a second surgery in Jan 22. After sugery he started chemo again and had a further 10 sessions of radiotherapy. A recent scan in July 22, showed his tumour is growing and alternative chemo is being tried.
We are running out of treatment options avaiable on the NHS.

Oliver has shown the upmost positivity, strength and is trying to continue to live a "normal" life as possible despite treatments, side effects and living with a brain tumour in his early 20s ! And supporting Everton !

Through research and talking to others, we have found treatments in Germany and USA , that have made major advances in Immunotherapy vaccines for brain tumours. The idea is that these vaccines help the immune system to recognise and attack those particular cells preventing them from growing back.

Unfortunately, they are not available on NHS . This treatment is very expensive and on top of treatment costs, would require regular travel to Germany. It is a huge amount of money for one family to fund.

We are relying on the kindness and generosity of anyone reading this to donate and share this page and help Oliver fight this cancer.
We are so grateful for any donation you can make no matter how big or small. Not only will this money go towards accessing treatment for oliver, any unspent donations will go -Teenage Cancer Trust
and The Clatterbridge Cancer charity that have supported Oliver in his journey!
