Story

"Proud to be a Scout!"

Oliver is 13. In October 2017 Oliver was successful with his application to be part of the UK contingent going to the 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019.

What's a Jamboree? It's a meeting of Scouts from all over the world who take part in a range of events and adventure sports and activities together. Much more importantly than that it provides an opportunity for young people to spend time with other young people from every corner of the world. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, literally, as you can only attend as a Scout once!

A Jamboree is a truly unique event when 40,000 young people from 155 countries start developing their own ideas, defining the world they want to live in, and making global friendships. And afterwards? Events like this help Oliver give back to Scouting, to his local area, and to inspire other young people to take part in adventure and unlock their potential.

Every penny raised goes to help Oliver attend this event and to inspire other young people to join Scouting, thank you very much for any help you give. For more info go to 2019wsj.org and ukcontingent.co.uk/jamboree-2019
