I've raised £3800 to sponsor Oliver to attend the 2019 World Scout Jamboree in North America.

My name is Oliver I am thirteen years old. I started my scouting life by joining Beavers when I was six. Scouting very quickly became a massive apart of my life. I have had so many fantastic experiences, which has helped with my self-esteem, given me a sense of value and provided me with another family - my scouting family. I am committed to attending regular meetings, following a set of values (my promise and Law) I pride myself on the number of badges I have and the ones I am working towards, this has helped me developed my skills in many areas.
To be selected I had to go through a two-selection process. The first was to win a place to represent my district. For this I created a collage of what scouting meant to me, what it had given me and what I knew about West Virginia.
I then competed for a county place. There were 100 scouts competing over 2 days, again I took my scouting collage along with a new board with the Jamboree Theme Unlock a new world which I tied in with the new Scouting ambassador Tim Peake.
When I found out I had been selected I was lost for words – and for anyone who knows me you will realise this is a first. This is a once in a life time opportunity, but now the hard work begins. Over the next 18 months I will be fundraising and will keep you all updated
Thank you so much for your support and taking the time to read my story
