Story
I am raising money from an 220 kilometer expedition to the north pole, where on arrival i will paint a Poppy on the snow, in remembrance of all the British and Commonwealth service men and women who have died serving this country.
The expedition will be a fully self sufficient, pulling my food, tent and equipment behind me, a total of around 50 kg and will take place in April 2018.
The £50,000 raised will pay for the expedition (costs of partaking in an organised event with ICETREK, a internationally recognized expedition company) , equipment (from cross country skis, to specialist cold weather clothing) and training ( 10 days on Savlbard island learning the art of polar survival and travel).
All additional money raised will go to the Royal British Legion.
I am undertaking this expedition because of both my personal want to push myself, but more importantly because or my desire to help those less fortunate than myself. Having just left school I find myself with a year before I go to university, and doing something to make a difference in other people lives is how I feel this year is best spent.
