Story
Hiya, I'm so excited to share with you my plans for my gap year adventure from the 21st September 2017 to the 24th of February 2018 - I will be part of the 'Marriage of the Arts' Discipleship Training Scheme (DTS) run by 'Youth With A Mission' (YWAM) in Nuremberg, Germany!
Having just finished A levels, I have decided to take a gap year to spend time deepening my relationship with God and to practically serve others using some of the skills that I have, while considering and planning for the next phase of life!
This DTS has a specific focus on learning how to use the arts for God's glory and to share the Good News of Jesus. Having just completed my art A-level, I have a real passion to use this skill as a part of my relationship with God and to convey a message to my audience or viewer. What greater message is there to share than the message of Jesus Christ!?
During the DTS I will be teaming up with other students passionate about using art, photography, music, poetry and dance, to help shape culture . More specifically, the DTS comprises of two phases; a lecture phase and an outreach phase
The first half of DTS is the lecture phase which covers a variety of different topics from international and national speakers. Possible DTS lecture topics include: hearing God's voice, the Father heart of God and identity in Jesus. Lectures are supported by worship, prayer times, small groups and practical art work in the YWAM centre and in the local German community.
The outreach phase involves the team travelling to a country in the 10/40 window to serve local communities and the local Church using artwork. I'm excited to experience new cultures and work with Christians with a similar passion to me from across the world to serve and to learn.
I would really value your support both in regular prayer and also financially to cover my course/travelling costs (if you are able to).
