Story
I've challenged myself to running 5 half marathons in 5 consecutive days with the 5th and final one being the official Lisbon half marathon on the 17th March. I’m then following this up by running my first ever official marathon - the Brighton Marathon in April for the The Filo Project, a wonderful not for profit organisation that supports people across the SouthWest who are living with dementia.
The Filo Project provides valuable caring days in small groups and feels like a fun day out with friends. Carefully selected hosts open up their homes for small groups of people living with dementia and other challenges of older age. They are shared joyful days where confidence grows, friendships are made and the risk of physical and mental health issues associated with isolation reduced.
The benefit to carers and families is huge, allowing them valuable respite from the challenges of caring for someone with dementia.
Any donation no matter how big or small will make a huge difference to the work of The Filo Project.
