Story
'One Man & his Fish' - On Thurs 13th Nov, I will be walking 28km around the wonderful town of Basingstoke, with a fish!
Why Thurs 13th Nov? - This is World Kindness Day
Why 28km? - 28 hours is the time some passengers were sat waiting on the planes when they first landed in Gander. It's also one of the songs in the show
Why Basingstoke? - We are celebrating local 'Community Heroes' from Basingstoke & Deane, and the route for the walk will incorporate a visit to a number of the charities/community organisations we are working with
Why with a Fish? - In Gander, there is a traditional ceremony carried out by the Mayor (my character), where you can become an honorary Newfoundlander by drinking some rum and kissing a fish.
I'm trying to raise £200 to help fund a community event that Basingstoke Amateur Theatrical Society (BATS) are organising, celebrating local 'Community Heroes', who step up to help others in need. If you are able to give something towards this cause then it would be greatly appreciated, and it will help us to celebrate and recognise those people in Basingstoke & Deane who display the best of humankind.
