One Love DJ Derek is working with Jen Griffiths the Great Niece of Derek and his family. We call upon fans of music, art and diversity to support a fund raiser to bring light and joy into to what has been a hard time for many people.

The Project is creating a new memorial mural to be painted by esteemed and emerging street artists in a prominent Bristol location adjacent to the M32 motorway. The site will become the last art you see as you enter or leave the wonderful city.

The site secured and the council have approved.

HazardOne, Zed in the Clouds and KOSC will be joined by the world famous Inkie to create a magnificent and mind blowing piece of street art.

DJ DEREK represents the heart and soul of our multi-cultural music society and One Love is looking to create a new fitting tribute to his selfless devotion to MUSIC, diversity and representation within BRISTOL and around the WORLD.

The design will be announced on the website shortly after launching!

The Project and fundraising page is to be announced on Thursday 22nd April to coincide with the 6-year anniversary of Derek’s funeral.

The money donated will go towards covering the costs of the artists, materials and equipment needed to create the mural.

Through various fundraising events over the summer One Love are looking to raise £3500 via donations and will also be applying for Arts Council England funding to support the project.

Any surplus funds are to be used to support some very exciting related arts projects which are to announced in due time! We are calling out to DEREKS biggest supporters and fans to get involved and the appeal will soon start to pick up pace.
