Story
Our Playgrounds
At St John and St James CoE Primary School, we are looking to improve the quality of play in our playgrounds by creating richer, more engaging, and inclusive outdoor play experiences. We believe and recognise that play is essential for children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. Pupils spend 20% of this time for children to engage in creative play spaces, where they can develop their problem-solving skills, as well as their resilience, team work and confidence.
What are we now looking to achieve?
We are now looking to install larger and more permanent structures in our playgrounds such as climbing frames and monkey bars. These are crucial for pupils' upper body strength, as well as their balance, coordination, flexibility and mobility. They also promote a healthy, active playtime and offer a variety of challenges that cater to all our pupils.
Donations
A parent recently asked if they could make a voluntary contribution towards these larger structures for our playground. If parents or carers would like to do so, as a school, we would be incredibly grateful. We have a target of £2500 to raise to ensure make a safe, durable investment with long-term benefits.
Your donation, big or small, will make a lasting impact our playground environments and the wellbeing of our children. Thank you very much.
