Open Heart needs a fully functional centre to operate out of. Our vision is to create a space that serves the needs of a growing sangha, enabling us to run courses, weekend retreats and meditation classes in the house, eliminating the additional expense of renting an outside venue.

In order to accommodate more people, the Shrine Room has to be opened up, which will involve taking down two walls. In addition to this we need to install an extra toilet, buy some furniture, put down some flooring, do some painting and so on.

Our aim is to get the work completed by the end of April 2019 in time for the May Birmingham City Retreat. In the long term these improvements will benefit the Open Heart sangha, giving us the space we need to practice the dharma together.

Any funds left over after the renovations are complete will go towards supporting the Open Heart retreat schedule.
