Story
Operation Pacemaker are holders of the European Cycle Land Speed Record at 135mph, we will now attempt the Guinness World Record of 167mph in Yorkshire, England in 2019.
The team all work full time jobs, our attempts so far have been self funded save for the kind generosity of sponsors who've supplied parts and services. To move forward we really need your help to compete with the well funded teams from the USA & Brazil also attempting this record in 2019.
Unlike the other teams, we simply cannot afford to make the trip to the 5 mile Mecca of speed; Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA. Instead, we will attempt the 167mph World Record in just 2 miles on a runway in Yorkshire, England. This has never been attempted. It has many associated risks and is incredibly dangerous, it will require aggressive acceleration and precision braking from very high speed, one slight error could end in catastrophe. That being said, the team believe with some ingenuity and innovation it's possible, after all we're British, it's what we do best.
Our World Record Attempt is fundamentally governed by the performance of the pace vehicle, it cannot be understated how important this is. We are proud to announce a partnership with the Red Victor Racing Team, Europe's fastest street legal race car over a quarter mile. Red Victor Racing are the quintessential British endeavour who will in January 2019 attempt to reclaim their crown as World's Fastest Street Legal Car. Their funding is genereted through the passion of a dedicated hard-core fan club who've manage to scrape together enough funds to get the car to the start line. Please check out their Justgiving page too, they need your help to battle with the might of the well funded international teams.

We will announce our chosen charity in due course who will benefit from publicity and funding from our attempt. We are however in talks with financial backers which if successful will release further donations to our chosen charity. We offer an open book policy to our accounts.
