Story
Hello,
Monty, an 8-year-old Chocolate Labrador, my best friend and companion has unfortunately developed cataracts in both eyes, resulting in him becoming blind virtually overnight. I have had Monty since October 2009 and throughout his time with me has been a constant source of love, fun and craziness.

In the late summer of 2016, Monty was diagnosed with Diabetes after being depressed, lethargic and not being himself. After initially paying for the treatment, the cost of treatment soon mounted up and I was unable to pay for his insulin. Thankfully the PDSA was there to help and we were able to control Monty’s diabetes, resulting in Monty transforming back to the wonderful, happy, loving dog he was pre-diagnosis.

This winter, and virtually overnight, Monty developed cataracts in both eyes and as a result has become blind. Monty has become depressed, lethargic and scared. He doesn’t want to go out for walks as often as he was and walks very close to me when we walk. He gets scared of other dogs, who he can’t see, very easily and is constantly walking into things at home. Monty also now has separation anxiety and is scared if he’s not in the same room as I am. Unfortunately, the PDSA can’t provide treatment for this and have said there is nothing they can do for Monty.

As a student, I wish I could pay for this treatment, but I am unable to fund this at present. Please help support me to raise as much money as possible for cataract surgery that would make the world of difference to his quality of life and let him see again. Any donations will bring us one step closer to restoring his eyesight and bringing him back to be the happy, fun-loving dog he was before. Any extra donations will be given to the PDSA to help support pets all over the UK.

Thank you and thank you for taking time to reading.
