How It Began The Story:

Lewis Housing Group is an independent not-for-profit organisation supporting vulnerable people and families faced with homelessness, at a time when more people are in need of low cost homes. In a response to the housing crisis and many vulnerable people finding it impossible to get on the housing ladder or else are crippled by increasing rents.

Lewis Housing Group proposes an alternative vision of what the future of housing can be and the main aim is to support the well-being, flourishing and prosperity of humankind, therefore developing thriving green homes for the future that are zero impact, eco and energy efficient.

Providing affordable homes to those suffering from poverty, low income, mental illness and disabilities within the UK and Internationally. It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the unhealthy state of true homelessness can be found throughout the world, to the extent to which; homeless people experience some of the worst living conditions and health problems in society.

Lewis Housing Group recognises the need for a radical change in the current housing system for a generation that has little hope of ever owning their own home. The organisation have been working on an alternative solution to the current housing crisis for many years, which are self-sustainable and much better for the environment. Lewis Housing Group needs your help for below:

Phase 1: To finalise project objectives and structural designs to submit 6 architecture planning permission proposals, outlay costs for RIBA plan of works in order to secure financial construction process. Will therefore set the foundation for Lewis Housing Group to implement works. Phase 2: Land purchasing through self-fundraising and donations. Phase 3: Building sustainable housing, a community centre and outside facilities projects with concepts deriving from vibrant, thriving and sustainable living communities methods practiced all around the world.

How To Support a Cause You Can Be Proud Of:

Homelessness can take control and change anyone's life in a blink of an eye. Most of us will say it could never happen to us comes to mind, but the long-term and repeated homelessness associated with making a change in your financial life is very high. With the uncertainty of job losses, cost of living rising, unexpected sickness and changes of the countries governing policies and lets not forget about global warming to the mixing bowl, we need to change right now.

We must start directing our efforts towards having more love in our hearts for the planet, environment and people by supporting, relieving and educating ourselves for the next generation who will be faced with much more poverty. Higher cost of living, increasing rents and low wages, we should not leave a legacy of pain and suffering for our children without really trying can we? It will only be a matter of time before everyone says enough is enough. Make that time now to make the change for your family. Just think for a moment and look at your family and what would happen to them. We walk past people everyday in the street not knowing their plight and suffering.

Real homelessness does not appear in any official statistics; my family was one of them many years ago. I remember a different story so-called "the hidden homeless" people. “The hidden homeless” people don’t sleep rough because of a lack of housing - with low wages, sickness and increasing cost of living, increasing sofa surfing and depending on a friends support in overcrowded accommodation is becoming the norm and this is occurring worldwide.

Why Ophiepius is Raising Awareness:

We are passionate about Lewis Housing Group’s mission and happy to support the cause because we ourselves as donors have experienced vulnerability, homelessness and misfortune in life. The struggle is real and the recovery is timeless. So we as donors have walked the walk and the road was very hard and filled with darkness.

One Step At a Time:

A small step is a big stride towards change, we see what is happening in the world everyday on social media and it is not going to improve. If we as humankind do not change how we live on earth from now it will be too late for us. Learning to understand why it is important to beginning a new Eco life and become apart of a go green self-reliant housing community is the future.
