I've raised £2000 to go towards the repair and restoration of our fine 3-manual organ, (including some original 1799 John Avery pipework), at Christ Church Bath.

At 7 a.m. on Wednesday 12th December, I will begin a 12-hour 'Marathon Organathon' at Christ Church. My goal is to raise urgently-needed funds for the repair and restoration of our organ, which I have the joy and privilege of playing every week. I aim to restrict myself to just an occasional 5 mins comfort break, as and when needed. The total cost of the organ refurbishment is no less than £106,500, of which there is a £46,500 shortfall in monies.
Once the refurbishment is completed in February 2019, Christ Church will have one of the finest pipe organs in Bath. Please click on the LINK at the bottom of this section for more details.
We will have a truly wonderful instrument, not just for our services and other religious/secular events, but on which to showcase professional organists from this area and further afield. There will be an inaugural recital to commemorate the newly refurbished instrument and we can look forward to a professional recital series at Christ Church in the not too distant future.
We plan to expand the programme of concerts and performances in this beautiful church, which is already the venue for many other well-attended external events, open to the public.
The Organathon is not a recital, but I will be playing from an expansive repertoire of organ music for 12 hours. It is important to mention that I shall be playing on a substitute 2-manual digital organ, as the main organ is already out of commission. The church will of course be open throughout the day should anyone wish to come in. Your generous support will be enormously appreciated by me and everyone at Christ Church.
Thank you.
