I've raised £3600 to Orla Walker British Exploring Society - Indian Himalaya 2019 Expedition

“Thank you for your support and taking the time to visit my page’’
In July 2019 I will be travelling to the Indian Himalayas with the British Exploring Society. I will be joining other volunteers from around the world to undertake a five-week expedition that has a strong emphasis on mountain climbing and exploration together with scientific data recording and interpretation of that natural environment. As an Explorer, I will take on the journey of a lifetime trekking in the world’s highest mountain range over peaks as high as 5800m, experiencing the traditional culture of the region and taking part in a wide range of scientific fieldwork, from carrying out lake surveys to measuring glacial retreat levels. Throughout my time in the Himalayas, I will be ‘wild’ camping, both at Base Camp and during the activity phases. This involves digging pit toilets and collecting water for drinking and cooking from the river. I will also not be able to contact home at any point during the expedition except in emergencies and only then by satellite phone.
Now here’s where I need your HELP… (Please)
I need to raise the charitable contribution of £3600.00 to participate. (None of this will cover my flights, visas or vaccinations). Any donations will help me to support the societies vital work by continuing to create lasting change, help to transform lives in some of the world’s poorest communities, help build community resilience, help to sustainably manage the worlds natural resources and to protect vulnerable environments. Please help me to protect our world for your children and grandchildren.
I will swim, cycle, run and climb throughout the spring with the aim of covering the border distance….
