We are a group of East 15 Acting School students who volunteer with the organisation Oxfordshire Refugee Solidarity. Together with them we take aid and volunteers to Northern France to distribute food and help to refugees sheltering on the streets and woodlands of the border. ORS has been visiting Calais for 2 years and have raised funds, aid and awareness for this situation.

We have met hundreds of beautiful people, men, women and children who have fled their homes from across the world because of war, poverty, oppression and above all hope and desperation for a better life in any way. These people are from Eritrea, Ethopia, Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lybia and many MANY more countires all around the world.

The mainstream media does not acknowledge this crisis at all and the French border control police, paid for by French and British taxes, have very little humanity when ’dealing with’ these desperate people.

We are trying to fund our next trip over to help in the little way we can by distributing food and aid. Please give as much as you can to allow us to show the compassion and care these people need to keep their spirits up and their hopes high.
