Story

As many of you now know we have been celebrating World Purple Day this week at Our Sensory Kids.

This day recognises the difficulties with living with epilepsy.

This is an incredibly impotant tooic for me. Whilst working as a teacher at my local special needs school we had three pupils pass away in one year through seizures, and many more have become incredibly poorly due to them. This particular beautiful boy still suffers with severe seizures and can sometimes have 20 or more per day. He has many tiggers, but the lavender scent is one of them. I have created this page with his parents permission in his honour this week. I would love you to join me in showing the true kindness of strangers.

When i told his parents what we were doing and asked them what they are raising money for she said;

”...Really surprised to hear from you, and the fact that we are in someone's thoughts about our situation is lovely, as we just do what we have to do every day, and deal what is thrown at Jason and us!! We haven't got a page for Jason, it's not something that we have ever thought about, if he needs something we get it for him if usually on a credit card. Having spoken to my husband about this, the thing that we really want for him that we think he would love, but can not afford is a bike we could strap him or his wheelchair into that we could ride with him on. He loves going out in the fresh air, and loves the sensations when he is on rides etc of movement and speed. We looked a little into last year expecting it to be around £1000 but they were a lot lot more than we thought so we are trying to save towards this but still miles away from it. We would never have presumed that people would help by doing a just giving page for him. Once again, we are amazingly touched by just the suggestion of this, as to be honest we pretty much feel that we have to deal with everything alone. Thanks very much, if for nothing else, then for just bringing a smile to our faces to know that some people are thinking about what we do for our amazing (little!!) boy.”

Shall we prove to them that the kindness of strangers can make a difference??
