Story
EVERY MIND PROJECT
Our next event is from one of our incredible dads, Leigh, a regular attendee at our 'Dads Together' group, with his daughter Rosie.
We are over the moon that Leigh has agreed to run the Cardiff Half Marathon for us in October, helping us raise vital funds to support those who need it!!
The ‘Every Mind Project’, is a project that will allow us to support individuals of all ages to access early intervention sessions/workshops and to offer a fast, free route to mental health therapy/ counselling.
In Wales there is a 36 week waiting list to get mental health therapy, a year long waiting list for CAMHS yet we are facing crises both physically and mentally.
Suicide rates in England and Wales reach highest level since 1999 with over 6,000 deaths by suicide last year. Men make up 75% of these with 12 men dying every day by suicide.
We know that prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer with breast cancer being a very close second.
It’s not only adults suffering.
1 in 5 children currently experience mental health difficulties and In the last three years, the likelihood of young people having a mental health problem has increased by 50%.
Some young people are waiting years to access support they need with the average waiting time having more than doubled since 2019.
We want to make sure that no one is left behind in getting the support they need, whatever challenges they are facing.
We want to raise a as much money as possible and will need every ounce of support you can muster.
Our Minds Together will be completing a series of challenges, asking for support from businesses and sponsors and hoping you incredibly kind and generous people will think of us by raising money for us along the way.
Lloyd, our founder, has completed the Canum40, one of the Pegasus Ultra Running challenges.
Please get behind Leigh in his fundraising efforts for our project.
Remember, every mind matters, every challenge counts.
