Owen was taken to the doctors and diagnosed with sinusitis, just a week later he was rushed to southampton hospital where he was operated on for 4 hours in order to remove an infection which had originated in his sinuses and moved its way up onto his brain. Owens mum was told that this was very rare meaning only 1 in 10,000 people would ever experience this. Although what has happened is very rare the affect it has had on Owen and his family has been devastating.

The pressure from the infection on his brain has caused him to have a stroke which has affected the left hand side of his body, he has also experienced a few seizures due to abnormalities in his brain. Owen has found this difficult to come to terms with but is determined to regain full use of his body, with the help of physio sessions and a supportive family unit. Due to Owens ill-health his parents and 4 siblings are living in southampton. This means that money . So close to christmas we want to ensure that they can still have a great one without having to struggle financially, so any donations are appreciated more than you can imagine.

Owen is experiencing a very painful and uncomfortable time in his life and at such a young age it is very difficult for an 11 year old to cope with, but despite everything he is going through he remains positive and polite to everyone. As a family we would like to provide his mum Tania and step dad Richard with the financial support to deliver Owen the best christmas after everything he is going through. He still remains in paediatric intensive care but with the support of a big family and an amazing unit of professionals around him we hope that his health will begin to improve soon.
