Story
Owen is helping Staplehurst Monarchs to raise funds to build a clubhouse at our home ground, Jubilee Sports Field by taking on not one but TWO challenges! Firstly, he will lead a team in the Superhero Series (https://superheroseries.co.uk/at-home-superheroes-2024), before competing at the Parallel Windsor Challenge event in July where he aims to complete 10k.
Owen has three rare syndromes, CDK13 genetic disorder, Loeys Dietz syndrome and KBG syndrome. He is registered as partially sighted and has recently been diagnosed with Post Covid 19 syndrome (long covid). It had slowed him down a bit, but has not affected his determination to do his challenges. This year, he has chosen to raise funds for his favourite football team, Staplehurst Monarchs, who are hoping to build a clubhouse for use on junior and senior matchdays which will help to ensure the future of the club where Owen has previously completed his challenges!
