I'm raising £20000 to reopen the Owl Hospital

For two and a half years now, primarily due to the risk associated with bird flu, we have been unable to operate our owl hospital and provide care and rehabilitation for wild owls and other birds of prey. This is because we do not have the facilities to segregate the work with the wild birds from the care and treatment of our own owls. We only have the one treatment space on site.
With the risks associated with bird flu reducing we have taken the strategic decision that we would love to be able to restart this rehabilitation work and provide the best possible care for injured and abandoned owls and other birds of prey, seeking wherever possible to achieve recovery, rehabilitation and release back into the wild.
To achieve our objective, we need to do some building work. Our owl hospital is used for all sorts of activities at present including treatment of our own owls & other animals and storage of everything from enrichment items to gazebos. We propose to build two buildings. One will be a purpose built, standalone treatment space for our own owls and other animals. The other will incorporate new aviaries for our team of flying birds, a weighing room, an enrichment room and storage areas.
We aim to do this building work over the winter season 2024/2025 so that we are ready for the Spring of 2025 to both recommence our rehabilitation work and continue the work of improving the facilities on site for our own owls and other animals.
This funding is for the first phase. We will also be looking at submitting grant applications to support this work.
Thank you in advance for your support.
