I've raised £500 to Oxford Hayek Society for Hilary Term 2020

Founded in 1983, the Oxford Hayek Society is Oxford's oldest student society that advocates for free markets, civil liberties, private property, the rule of law and limited government - to further the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. We are the home for classical liberals and libertarians studying in Oxford's universities.
To that effect, we host regular speaker events, discussion groups and social functions during termtime in order to inspire, educate and entertain students and residents of Oxford in liberal traditions.
Last term, we welcomed over 150 guests to seven events. We have a reach on our social media spanning up to 5,000 people, and we do our best to publish materials from our events online, so that those outside of Oxford can also benefit from the events we run. We also maintain an active blogpost and mailing list.
Post-Oxford, our alumni have taken our life-formative values onwards in life to institutions including the Bank of England and universities spanning two continents.
I was extremely impressed by these Oxford libertarians. They struck me as modest, thoughtful and intelligent people who are...probably doing much better and making much more impact than they now realise.
We rely on the generosity of our benefactors to continue to do this. We charge as little as £10 for life membership - less than other comparable societies in Oxford - and we try our best to keep our events free of charge and open to non-members, so that we can champion the virtues of free markets and limited government to as wide an audience as possible.
Will you donate to help us found our Hilary Term 2020? On the basis of the last term, we expect our expenses will come to a mere £500. This money will go towards room bookings, maintaining the Society's website, associated event expenses, and ensuring we can continue to bring in a high calibre of speakers to inspire the next generation of Oxford graduates. We're also keen on securing our hands on a good-quality camera so that we can record more of our events and publish them online for the world to view.
