I've raised £400 to the Oxford Hayek Society for Trinity Term 2020

Established in 1983, the Oxford Hayek Society is Oxford’s oldest student society that advocates for free markets, civil liberties, private property, the rule of law and limited government - to further the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.
In Hilary 2020, we ran an outstanding termcard, welcoming almost 200 guests and 9 speakers to 13 events. Our social media posts were viewed by up to 2,000 people each on Facebook and 17,500 people each on Twitter, while we expect that our videos from the term will be viewed many hundreds of times far away from the City of Dreaming Spires.
However, this came at substantial cost to the Society. Despite our best efforts, we finished with a deficit of almost £150 last term - closing the gap on the £350 deficit left in Michaelmas 2019.
While COVID-19 means that we will only have administrative expenditures for Trinity 2020, such as email and maintenance, we will have several large expenditures due over the summer. These include registration for the annual Freshers Fair, which will help us to welcome new freshers interested in the ideas of classical liberalism, and the annual bill for our website.
In particular, we'd love to be able to purchase two tables for the Freshers Fair rather than our conventional single table, which would greatly increase our visibility in the crowded marketplace for societies at Oxford!
We're therefore asking for £400 to cover our expenses going forward. With just a small donation, you can help us ensure that the flame of liberty keeps burning in Oxford, inspiring a new generation of alumni to defend the principles of free markets and free societies.
I was extremely impressed by these Oxford Libertarians. They struck me as modest, thoughtful and intelligent people who are, as I said at the end of my prepared talk, probably doing much better and making much more impact than they now realise.
Can we count on your support?
