Our world bears many wounds: war, hatred, ecological destruction, and growing inequality. Surrounded by constant images of violence and division, it is easy to become cynical or discouraged.
Yet this is not the first dark time in history. As J.R.R. Tolkien reminds us, the future often grows quietly, hidden in forgotten corners, while attention is fixed on destruction. Like an underground river or imperceptible leaven, life continues to germinate.
The next edition of Convergence invites a shift in our gaze — away from fear and despair, toward real stories where hope is lived, unity is possible, and communication is “disarmed and disarming.” This is not a retreat from the world, nor a claim of superiority, but a humble search for what is already alive and growing.
