Story

I am writing and funding on behalf of Ozzie the little Schnauzer and as as a warning to all dog owners in Sevenoaks.

I recently looked after my sons precious mini schnauzer whilst he was on holiday . Ozzy and I went for our usual morning walk on his lead onMay 28th to Greatness Park where we often go when he stays with me. Ozzy was horrifically attacked by a German Shepherd and his life lay in the balance. Ozzy required immediate surgery as his intestines were hanging from his little body. Following initial surgery from the wonderful Pennard Vets he had to be transferred to the Royal College of Vets in Hertfordshire for further life saving surgery. Following many ups and downs he was finally discharged a week later. Amazingly he made it....but he is still very poorly and is currently requiring intensive medication, pain relief and frequent veterinary check ups. He is not out of the woods and his current state of anorexia is causing extreme concern and it is possible that he may not survive.

I write this to support my son and his family who are horrified at the current lack of intervention from the authorities considering this dog has attacked before. We as a family cannot rest knowing this dog may attack again and next time who knows how bad it will be.

Ozzys family were insured but only for the first £3000 which does not even cover the first operation. Their current bill stands at around £8000 and is risising daily. They have a comprehensive insurance but this only covers a small portion of the cost. We have suggested a crowdfunding page but they don’t feel comfortable with this. So I am taking it in hand as I cannot bare to see them suffer both pshycologically and financially.

We are aware that there’s have been other incidents involving this dog and urge anyone with information to please inform the dog warden so we can protect our community from further heartache.

Please spare a thought for this little family member and if you feel you could give a little to help it would be greatly appreciated
