we have signed up to do a sponsored sky dive to help raise money for a loving dad and father in law who unfortunately needs life saving treatment for a brain tumour which is not available on the NHS.

Stuarts story is below:

Stuart was diagnosed with a Grade 4 brain tumour in December at the age of 53. He has had surgery to remove 99% of the tumour and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, however the doctors are rather clear this won’t save him and it’s just to keep him alive longer. Watching a loved one die is something we hope nobody ever has to experience but this is our reality. We need help to get him the treatment he deserves.

Stuart has been a police officer for nearly 30 years , serving the community with Derbyshire Constabulary, he was looking forward to his well earned retirement in May. He is literally the kindest man you could ever wish to meet. we can’t bear the thought of life without him.

He just missed out on the criteria for a new immunotherapy trial available on the NHS . This innovative type of treatment involves the stimulation of the body’s immune system to recognise tumour cells as “foreign” and therefore kill them. This and the Optune treatment have clinically
shown a significant increase in overall survival of patients diagnosed glioblastoma . Both of these treatment options are well developed for use in America and clinics and hospitals in Europe (especially Germany)

The treatment is there we just can't afford to have it ....

A persons life matters and no one is more important than another regardless of their bank account.
