Story
As the only Girl Guide from Warrington & St Helens to be selected, I’m really proud to have the opportunity to travel to Finland in April 2019, as part of a group of 18 Guides from North West England. We’re a group of 12-14 year old girls travelling with 4 leaders to take part in an amazing opportunity on a worthwhile overseas project working alongside a charity near Helsinki.
‘Handicraft’ has reuse stores and centres – essentially they get crafts, beads, materials etc. from companies that no longer need them and they reuse them to make crafts/items such as bags, clothes and accessories for children or other people who are less fortunate and cannot afford these items.

In their centres they make a lot of the items and in the stores they sell them.
They’re based in the city of Espoo which is 10 miles from Helsinki.
She needs to raise £850 to go on the trip and has been fundraising at local community events, Guiding events and at her school (Great Sankey High School). Any donations, no matter how small, will be a great help.
