Nepal Flood Emergency Appeal - August 2026

On 26 August 2026, catastrophic flash floods swept through northern Nepal after a glacial lake outburst on the Nepal-Tibet border, devastating communities across Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. At the time of writing, over 160 people have died and more than 1,300 remain missing, with homes, roads and infrastructure destroyed.

The regions affected are not ones that Partners for Progress usually works in - but the scale of this disaster, and the urgent need for recovery support in the weeks and months ahead, moved us to act. Rather than attempt to deliver aid ourselves in an area outside our expertise, we're raising funds to transfer directly to trusted partner organisations already on the ground, with the local knowledge and experience to lead recovery and reconstruction effectively.

Every donation goes toward rebuilding homes, restoring livelihoods, and supporting affected communities as they recover - channelled through partners who know how to make it count.
