We are the Ballyclare P7 mini rugby team!!!!

Players, parents and coaches (even cone carriers) have come together to provide 6 years of unforgettable rugby experiences.

From tiny little people playing dangerous games of sharks and pirates, being clothes lined by a certain coach (you know who you are) and mastering (ish) those handling skills in P1 & P2. They've grown to become a team of side-stepping, try scoring, tactically aware, tackling machines that have the opposition shaking at the knees!

Well, that last part is not strictly true. We are not technically the best team in the world and sometimes we do miss a tackle. However, we have heart, determination and have an amazing time being part of this rugby team. P7 really is like having a big extended family!

As we are a team still learning, improving and growing in the sport, our final year of mini rugby gives us the opportunity to cement this growth into an unforgettable experience: a rugby tour!

P7 will be going to Hilversum in the Netherlands in March 2027!!

But we need your help...

Can you remember those halcyon days of mini rugby? Those hotdogs that weren’t quite cooked? Maybe the hours spent on the sidelines? Or even watching middle-aged men and women trying to keep up with sprightly 9-year-olds on a training pitch?

Yeah, me neither. I just remember being cold and wet.

To make a memory that will never be forgotten, P7 players will aim to complete a sponsored play and trek day on Saturday 19th September. They aim to travel to Enniskillen, play a match against Enniskillen Rugby’s P7s and then trek the 6km of the Cuilcagh Boardwalk. Yes, that’s right, all in one day!
