    Story

Update from Paddy's GAA Club (LA Cougars GAA) who have been supporting the family in California:

4th April 2022 - Thank you all for your support and incredibly generous donations. The response to this fundraiser has been simply immense and a global effort. Paddy and his family are clearly very loved and it has been so heartwarming to see so many communities activate and rally to their aid so quickly. Together, we have provided a strong security blanket to Paddy and his family in their time of need.

The latest on Paddy's condition is that for the last 3 days he's been a lot more settled and stable (yay!). He has major leg surgery scheduled for tomorrow so keep him in your thoughts and cross all fingers and toes! If all goes well, the next step will be to get him into the MRI machine for a closer look at that big ole brain of his where we're all hoping he's given the all clear but we need to be and are prepared for any outcome.

With visits to the hospital restricted due to Covid, Cougars GAA have been very focused on keeping Paddy's parents spirits high, making sure they have all they need and helping them take well earned breaks from the hospital and being able to change the subject every once in a while.Today, more visits happened from some of Paddy's closest friends and Monday/Tues the next pod from our club will pop down.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you're probably aware, Paddy was recently hit by a car while enjoying a weekend away. After several life saving surgeries by the medical team at Inland Valley Medical Center, today, he remains in a coma with more surgeries ahead, a threat of brain damage, and no matter what way you look at it, a very long road to recovery. Paddy is well supported, but the true impact of that support can unfortunately depend on finances (especially when dealing with the US health system).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Our friend Patrick Brennan was seriously injured in an accident in Los Angeles. We would like to gather some support for Paddy‘s family, Mary, Maurice, John, James, Maeve and Michael as they manage his road to recovery.

Donations will go to the family to support travel, accommodation, medical bills and recovery support over the coming months.

Sending our love and prayers already to our neighbours and friends, the Brennans. Feel free to leave messages for Paddy Brennan and the Brennans.

For transparency, all transfers from this page will be performed in coordination with the family and posted on this page. I am hoping Steelstown GAA will take over admin of this page at some point.

Hi, The donations to this page have been astounding in their generosity. Paddy's family have been using the money to be there with him at hospital together and in shifts. Given our last update and smashing all expectations we will stop receiving donations to this page page in 8 days on 28/07/2022. The remainder on that closing date since our last update (~£2k today) will be transferred to the family after that closing date. We will update with any news here and share them on facebook. THANK YOU. Go raibh mile maith agat.
