Story

I’m raising funds to install a publicly accessible defibrillator (AED) in our community — a piece of life-saving equipment that can mean the difference between life and death in the crucial first few minutes of a cardiac arrest.

This cause is deeply personal to me.

My mum suffered a sudden cardiac arrest, and in that terrifying moment, I had to perform CPR. It was the scariest experience of my life. Every second felt like a lifetime. I knew that without immediate action, I could lose her.

Thankfully, because CPR was started quickly, she survived. But not everyone is that fortunate.

Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Survival rates drop dramatically with every minute that passes without CPR and defibrillation. Having a publicly accessible defibrillator in our community could give someone a fighting chance while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

I would never want another family to go through the fear and helplessness I felt that day — wondering if there was more I could have done. Access to a defibrillator could save a parent, a child, a friend, or a neighbour.

Your donation, no matter how small, will help us purchase and install this vital equipment so it is available 24/7 for anyone who might need it.

Together, we can make our community safer and give someone the chance at life.

Thank you for your support ❤️
