Being able to paint the places where Mick and I enjoyed walking is helping me to come to terms with losing him so soon.

This is the Second painting that I have done to raise funds for SSAFA the Armed Forces charity, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, is a UK charity that provides lifelong support to serving men and women and veterans from the British Armed Forces and their families or dependents

Mick was part of Beyond Six and was made Beacon of the North in Dec 2020, he was so proud to be part of something that was very important to him, and finding the Hills/ mountains & new friends through the group helped to support him at hard times.

My second painting is actually a storm drain that we saw when we were walking through Plas Power Woods in Wrexham, a lovely local woodland walk

.

I wanted to try something a bit different to the usual landscapes, I always paint with alot of detail, it helps to keep my mind in focus , and also I find it slows my thoughts down by looking into the details that are in front of me.

I hope whoever wins this, finds as much pleasure in it as I did painting it . x
